About PVMA
The Philippine Veterinary Medical Association is the national professional association for licensed veterinarians in the Philippines. Since 1907 it has stood for the profession under one identity: Lingkod. Tinig. Kaagapay.
Our history
PVMA was founded in 1907, making it one of the oldest professional associations in the Philippines. It was formed by veterinarians who saw the need for a national body to represent the profession, uphold its standards, and speak with one voice on matters affecting animal health, public health, and the practice of veterinary medicine.
In the decades since, the association has grown alongside the profession itself: from a small circle of early practitioners into a nationwide association organized through regional chapters. Today PVMA is organized into twelve regional chapters, connecting members from Metro Manila to Mindanao and carrying the association’s work into local communities across the country.
Through changes in veterinary practice, animal health policy, and the profession’s own growth, PVMA has continued to serve as the professional home for Filipino veterinarians: a place to belong, to develop, and to be represented.

What PVMA does
- Advocacy. Represents the interests of the veterinary profession before government agencies, regulators, and the public.
- Continuing education. Organizes seminars, conventions, and training so members keep pace with veterinary science and practice standards.
- Professional standards. Promotes ethical practice and supports members in meeting licensure and continuing professional development requirements.
- Chapter network. Connects veterinarians nationwide through regional chapters, each active in its own community.
- Public and animal health. Partners with government and industry on animal disease control, food safety, and public health initiatives.
- Member services. Provides the members portal, association news, and event access to keep members informed and connected.
